Q: Did you buy generic Plavix from Canada ?
I’d like to know what your experience was like buying the generic form of Plavix from Canada.
A: If you are looking for a good, low-cost and reliable non-usa pharmacy that carries generics of most popular meds you can use the site I buy from which is at The-Med-Store.com
Q: i cannot buy PLAVIX blood thinner in the generic form now.?
i was able to buy PLAVIX in generic form until today. the pharmacy employee told me that there may be a lawsuit against the generic maker. can anyone give any more info on this?
A: Plavix won’t become generic until 8/17/2009. Generic companies are allowed to start their trials a little while before the end of the patent. However, the brand manufacturor always sue the generic house because when sued, the generic company has to stop their trials.
Q: Does anyone now if it is safe to buy prescription drugs online? My husband takes Plavix and it is expensive!?
A: I would not do it for the good reason given above and also because you want to be able to hold someone accountable if something goes wrong right? It the pharmacist mixes the wrong pills and gets you sick guess who you can sue! Be safe and get your drugs in person.
Q: How do you go about buying drugs in Canada? I have a legal prescription for Plavix, but don’t know what to do?
My doctor even told me to buy the expensive drug in Canada, but I don’t quite know where or how to start. I have the written prescription.
A: Just like in most countries — you got to the drug store, show them the prescription, and buy the Plavix.
Assuming that you do live in Canada.
Q: Has anyone bought generic plavix outside of the United States?
I was looking for a generic Plavix and came a crossed 4rx.com. I want to order but just a little skeptical, b/c it’s coming from another country. Has anyone ever bought medication on line before from other countries. My dad had a heart attack back in June and they put him on Plavix along with a whole list of other medications. He tried to get help from the company that makes Plavix but was denied, makes to much money. All though he did get help with his other medication. Trust me he does not make much money. Between all the hospital bills and the medication he is on now, I’m worried he is not going to be able to live. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Oh and did I mention he has no insurance.
A: I have personally not purchased any drugs from foreign countries over the internet and I would be cautious about doing this. Plavix is a very important medication after a heart attack and going without this medication could lead to disastrous results. Sometimes medications online may not even contain the correct medication and I would not take this risk with a medication like Plavix. I am very sorry to hear about your father’s situation, and unfortunately a lot of people are in a similar position. I would recommend checking with a Social Worker to determine if there are any other resources available to assist with medications. Also, he should apply for Medicare and Medicaid if he qualifies. There are some websites that offer coupons for medications like Plavix. I would also recommend that you apply for the patient assistance program from the manufacturer, but unfortunately you have already y done this and been declined. I will leave some links for you.
Q: my brother in law had a heart attack at the age of 40. He needs to take plavix. Where is the best place to?
buy this at an affordable price. He has no insurance. thanks
A: Sorry, but the first answer is incorrect. The $4 programs only include generic drugs. As Plavix isn’t available generically, it’s not on the list.

Q: Can anybody recommend appropriate shoes and socks for this condition? I have to buy these items on line.?
I have a dreadfully red and swollen left foot, left leg and 2 swollen ankles. I saw a doctor and had an echo-cardiogram, chest xray and electro cardiogram. He also prescribed Plavix.
This probably resulted from a recent long flight that I took.
A: bucle shoes and silk shocks
Q: were can i find heart medications at lower prices?
I am taking PLAVIX , it’s too expensive for me to buy so, i’m looking for a way to buy it more directly.Maybe directly from the lab.I hope someone can help me.
A: Try Walmart – at $122 they are about $20 cheaper than anyone else on a 30 day supply. Until there is a generic version it will continue to be expensive.
Q: Are Most Efficacious Care Protocols just a Way to Automate Medical Practice?
Is Evidence-Based-Medicine really just an Expert System?
And should physicians who agree to be enslaved by it have their Board Certifications terminated?
From what source of perfect knowledge did the Federal government become the arbiter of what constitutes medical evidence?
Is the Federal Government Authorized to Practice Medicine?
Here’s the context? I went to the VA today to get some Plavix, which I’ve had a prescription for the last 6 years, due to my heart condition (chest pains). I had the chest pains for 4 years, then went on the Plavix and they stopped completely in a week and have never come back. Now I need the VA to provide my Plavix for me, for about 3 years, till I get on Medicare.
The VA doctor who examined me said, I can’t write Plavix for you unless you have a stent from a prior heart attack. You could have some aspirin if you like.
I asked “why?”
She said we at VA use evidence based medicine (most efficacious care protocols).
Here are my questions:
Where does “evidence based medicine come” from? How did the VA get that?
Is the VA uniquely qualified in all of USA to assess medical evidence?
Is the VA the only organization that knows what care is efficacious and what care is not efficacious?
How did they gain this knowledge?
When did they gain the knowledge?
Are there published articles containing this knowledge?
Are there no dissenting opinions from Board certified Doctors to those articles?
If the VA really has this infinitely precious knowledge, no matter where it came from or how they got it, why are any doctors in USA allowed to write prescriptions that are not in accord with the VA’s “Evidence Based Medicine”?
In fact why have doctors at all? Wouldn’t GS-3’s be just as good at looking things up in the “Evidence Based Medicine” computer? Why bother hiring MDs?
A why have medical schools? Now that the VA knows what medicine is evidence-based and what is just voodoo-based, why not put the evidence based medicine online as an expert system and let people be their own doctors?
The VA tells me that they will submit my request for non-formulary medicine to the Committee.
The Committee are nameless and faceless persons who have never examined me, like at least the doctor did today. All they can do is look in the “evidence-based medicine” rulebook, which says, no stent therefore no Plavix.
So they read that off the screen , then the copy and paste it, and send it back to the doctor who examined me with a note “request denied”.
OK, I think there is no Constitutional basis for the Federal government of the USA to practice medicine at all. I think the VA Committee of nameless faceless persons may not even be doctors at all. They sure did not see me or hear me when I gave to details of my Plavix request — family history of heart disease — mother died of a heart attack, had heart pain for 4 years, took Plavix, it has kept me pain free for six years.
All they can do is read their screen. No stent — no Plavix.
Evidence-based medicine has got to be the most tyrannical and hubristic thing the Federal government has ever tried to do. It completely cancels all the judgment of all private doctors in USA, their years of prcatice, and teaching, and clinical experience. It substitutes an expert system that is faceless and nameless but becomes the Tyrant-Czar over all medical decisions.
This lunacy is going to cost me my life. I wouldn’t have gone to the VA except as a last resort. If am Service-Connected 50% Disabled due to my heart condition. They want to give me an aspirin.
My Plavix for the next 3 years would cost them $2,400 if they had to buy it retail, which they don’t.
Too costly, not for me, well unless I could just go ahead and have a heart attack, and have a stent put in for them.
The Federal government practicing medicine is going to be a lot like having the postal clerks handle medicine.
I earnestly hope that there is a massive class action lawsuit that goes to the U.S. Supreme Court and where “evidence-based medicine” is judicially found to be “evidence-of-hubris-based medicine”. I would volunteer to be a lead plaintiff in such a case. I have an authentic case or controversy which has been resolved to my great harm (after earning my VA benefits and being a Honorably Retired Navy vet). If the VA’s action does result in my death, the case will; be even stronger, and it could help other vets.
What’s your medical and professional opinion?
A: Unfortunately, these primary physicians have their hands tied.
You should have the doctor who has been prescribing the Plavix for you for years notify the VA doctors that you have been taking it for years, you need it, and it’s the most beneficial medication for you!
If you still have trouble getting it, which is ridiculous, I would take it to the the doctor’s “boss.” Problems like this are my pet peeve. It causes you so much worry and trouble for no real reason at all. Someone has to have a little compassion and give you the freaking medication. >:-< All they're worried about is a few bucks, while you're suffering and being stressed, which is the worse thing for you.
I sincerely wish you the very best of luck.

What’s your medical and professional opinion?
A: I can understand your frustration with this – being able to get a medication that has helped you and suddenly being told by another doctor it has restricted use.
I suspect evidenced based medicine means that the supply of medication is only allowed when medical procedures/tests have confirmed that the patients have a SIGN of disease (in this case – of blood clotting confirmed by angiography and insertion of stents) rather than just the patients subjective complaint of a symptom (chest pain).
Here is a link that may provide you with a way to finding some financial assistance for taking Plavix :
http://www.ptca.org/forumtopics/topic_financial_assistance.html
But why don’t you try taking Omega 3 Fish Oils or Flaxseed Oil ?! They help with circulatory conditions and can thin your blood. Also it wont irritate your gut like Aspirin can.
Changing your diet to include oily fish (salmon, tuna, mackerel) olive oil, and the spices ginger and turmeric can also help to stop your blood from clotting. Diets high in saturated fats (animal fats) like bacon can give you sticky blood and cause aromas/clogged arteries.
Q: Do you know someone who will help with meds?
since my husbands heart attack,we have taken a drastic money cut.his insurance doesn’t cover meds.now we don’t qualify for assistance,i called Walgreen’s to get a pill that was normally 5 dollars, that’s all we had money for.plavix, this is a pill he basically cannot live without,so we usually get it a couple days at a time.well i guess that irritating them because now,to buy 1 pill its 12 dollars,if i buy 5 its 32.which is mind blowing to me because its a med he really needs.i cant find help here, anyone has any ideas?and do you agree with them for charging us for the inconvenience of one pill, its very upsetting to me,its not like its a narcotic or something…he needs it
