Q: Letrozole?
Has anybody had any experience taking the drug letrozole for infertility and if so, how did it go?
A: my one sister did and get had major complications from taking it. she finially said if God wants me to have a baby he will let it happen
Q: How much time does letrozole take to concive?
Hai.. I am taking letrozole for PCOD. So, does how much time does it take to concieve? Thank You!!!
A: Letrozole is an ovulation medicine and does not guarantee ur conceiving. u will need to get ur follicle study done through ur gynac and she/he will tell u when to try depending on ur ovulation dates. Also tabs like letrozole are to b taken only for 12 cycles in ur life as they are for ppl who have survived breast cancer….
Talk to ur doc abt ur ovulation dates.
Q: Has anyone gotten pregnant with the help of letrozole?
I have polycystic ovary syndrome and am trying to conceive. My doctor put me on Clomid, but it has not work. Lab results showed I am ovulating now, but my progesterine levels are low. He is going to put me on letrozole. Have you or anyone you know been in a similar situation? How long did it take for you to get pregnant? Thanks!
A: My GF just got pregnant w/ that her first month trying.. only med that would help her ovulate…
Q: The only way for me to ovulate is to be on clomid or letrozole and that makes my uterine lining too thin?
to keep a pregnancy. Has anyone been through this and what did you have to do in order to have a baby? THank you.
A: I am wondering why you think that taking medication is the only way for your body to ovulate? I have PCOS which causes me to not ovulate and was told that without medical intervention I would never conceive a child. I now have a 2 1/2 year old and a baby due in Oct. It all happened without meds. I will post my little story about my PCOS but the book that I link is also about infertility and ovulation issues. You can see some of the book on the page and read testimonials before you buy it.
good luck
too have PCOS and personally find that treating it naturally with a change in my diet and exercise is much more effective for your long term health. The problem with medication is that the there is none. Dr’s will prescribe a diabetes med if you suffer from insulin resistance and/or irregular periods, but that doesn’t treat the underlying cause or long term health risks that are associated with PCOS. I was diag. about 8 years ago and mostly ignored it or took birth control to regulate my periods, but for me that was not a long term option. But last year when my dr. told me of the long term risk I was putting myself in I decided to research my options and that’s when I found out how diet and exercise was really the only long term option. I am not one to take a medication that really isn’t going to help long term nor do I want to be on a medication for life. I would rather treat things naturally. I must say that after much research I found a great book that was pretty informative and help full in changing my lifestyle. I was able to lose 40lbs without much exercise which in the past because of the PCOS was next to impossible. The excess facial hair is very nearly all gone and whats left is very light. I sleep better, have more energy and have managed to have 2 cycles in a year one every 6 months (2009). Which for me is amazing since I would go years without one at all. We finally got preggs in January 2010. Please check out this book, the link goes to the ebook area but if you go the very bottom of the page and find the home button it will give you tons of other links and testimonies. Good luck!!

PS. I was told that there was no way I would get pregnant without medical intervention. But here I am pregnant for with our 2nd child and I have never taken any medications, just changed my diet to a healthy well balanced diet. I avoid additives and boxed food and try to eat fresh most of the time. They don’t have a full understanding of PCOS right now so to treat it for the long term health in my book is a much better option
Q: Letrozole-has anyone used this to stimulate ovulation? Were there any problems or complications with the baby?
thanks.
Thank you for your answer. I feel so much better.
A: I have, with success.
There are no problems or complications with the baby because letrozole is short acting and leaves your system within a day or two. Since it is taken for a short time at the beginning of your cycle, waaaaaaaay before there is any baby, there are no ill effects on baby.
Good luck!
Q: Can I take Clomid and letrozole at the same time?
The same OB prescribed them to me. I clarified whether I should take them at the same time and she said yes. I’m just wondering coz I read in a lot of threads that letrozole is an alternative to Clomid and should be taken during days 3-7 of your cycle. My Ob further said that the letrozole is an alternative to metformin which I used to take. She ordered me to take Clomid and also Letrozole once a day for 20 days first.
A: I would NEVER trust anyone on yahoo answers to give me correct info on a question like this! You need to call your doctor or pharmacist and get the correct info from them!
Q: Using of Letrozole tablet to get pregnant?
Hai i am using letrozole tablet to concieve because i am having PCOD. I took it but it didnt work for first tie. Should i use 2 or 3 time or better i go for any other treatment. Please tell me
A: It is recommended to try any assisted reproduction treatment for at least 3 tries while being monitored, and often more.
I would give it a few more tries. Even normal couples who have no fertility issues only have a 25% chance of conceiving each month.
Good luck!
Q: Has anyone tried letrozole along with metaformin and did they get pregnant and how long did it take?
A: I took metaformin and fell with my first son and it worked but I was advised to stop taking it as soon as i found out i was pregnant.
Q: while taking letrozole for breast cancer is it harmful to exercise considering my adrenal glands?
A: Why do you raise a question about your adrenal glands? There is nothing specifically about letrozole which will affect your adrenal glands.
You should exercise, assuming you have no other reasons not to (like a heart problem). It is good for your bones, your health, and may have benefits in preventing recurrence of cancer.
God bless, best wishes
Q: Has anyone used Letrozole for fertility and how effective was it?
A: my sister used it … her and her husband tried for about a year and after going to the doctor and being tested and nothing was wrong with either one of them so the doc put her on letrozole and was pregnant in about 6 months … good luck … i hope it works for you
Q: Anyone know of Birth defects when using Letrozole as a fertilty treatment?
A: Have you read these sites? I suggest you comb them carefully to see if any mention of a connection found between
Letrozole and birth defects:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-US&q=Letrozole+side+effects
Q: My pharmacist gave me too much Letrozole, do I give it back? Will they even take it?
I picked up a prescription for what I thought would be 5 pills and they gave me the whole bottle of 30 pills.
A: Honestly it doesnt matter what you do with them. You should call the pharmacy and let them know so their cycle counts arent off for the week. Just keep them incase you ever need them again. The exp. date is on the bottle.
Q: Where can i get Letrozole in the UK? Can Doctora Prescribe it?
Does any1 know where I can get Letrozole in the UK?
Im 17 and i think i have gynecomastia, and I’m totally fed up of it!! Everyone says w8 and see until it goes, but i want it gone NOW
A: Letrozole is available on prescription in the UK. It is a drug used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women, as far as I am aware Letrozole and other selective oestrogen receptor modulators have no licence in the UK for the treatment of Gynecomastia- although they are sometimes used.
I believe tamoxifen (again I don’t think it has a licence for use in this instance) has shown better results in adolescents with gynaecomastia- particularly with reduction in breast tissue and breast discomfort. Clomiphene is also sometimes used but has poor results.
In most cases Gynecomastia is physiological and benign, it should disappear itself within a few years, but it can be pathological due to an imbalance between the activity of androgens and oestrogen’s and other various conditions.
You need to see your GP, if there is an underlying cause, then once that is rectified, the Gynecomastia should resolve.
If all else fails then surgical subcutaneous mastectomy or liposuction associated mastectomy are other options.
Q: Only people who have taken letrozole?
I have PCOS and i am concerned with taking Letrozole. It is not approved for infertility, which makes me nervous. I have two children and it took me a long time to have them. We wanted a third, and we have been trying to conceive for over two years now. I don’t want to waste time, enegry, and money on a medicine that i’m not sure will help.
1. What do you think of Letrozole for infertility and bringing on ovulation?
2. How long have you been taking it? Did you conceive? and how long did that take?
A: haven’t try it but have heard of it on fertilityties.com, try the websit.
I have heard its like clomid but don’t have the bad side effects, if your not comfortable with the med ask your dr about femara
Q: what should a person do when clomid or letrozole doesn’t work?
both clomid or letrozole aren’t working in my case all else is normal……..egg is forming but not releaseing….even when injected with hcg injection please help
A: how do you know the egg is not releasing? thats weird. fertility specialist but read into all natural stuff …
